Hello, everyone!
Before I get to this week’s comic, I want to start a story about Hollywood thrills, chills, and spills.
STEPHEN COLBERT AND THE HARVEY RICHARDS SAGA, PART 1
Last week, I was walking Otis and listening to a podcast: David Cross's podcast, with his guest Stephen Colbert. They got to talking about cartoonists, and Colbert mentioned meeting my friend Tom Tomorrow. I stopped in my tracks. I certainly don't expect to be included in every cartoonist conversation, but if they got to Tom Tomorrow but didn't mention me, I was going to be seething with jealousy. Thankfully, David (thank you, David) then asked Colbert if he'd ever met Ruben Bolling. Colbert's answer was a quick, "No," and they moved on.
If you're interested, you can watch it here -- they start their discussion about cartoonists at around 57:00.
I took great note of this because, as far as I know, Colbert should DEFINITELY have heard of me.
Colbert was once “attached,” or so I was “told,” to play a Tom the Dancing Bug character, HARVEY RICHARDS: LAWYER FOR CHILDREN in a movie, and “spent” “months” working on a “rewrite” of a script that cost over a “million” dollars.
The full story is told only in the Inner Hive sanctuary, or at least Part 1 will be told this week, with Part 2 told when the Inner Hive faithful gathers next week.
