Hey, why not run another God-Man comic?
GOD MAN, in “A Necessary Invention” (2010)
I remember being struck by this interview:
This comic is included in the upcoming book Tom the Dancing Bug, Without the Bad Ones (info below), so if you like it…….

This week’s Classic Tom the Dancing Bug (published on GoComics yesterday) is “Bob Figures It Out: ‘How to Be Invincible’” (from 2014).
—
And this week the GoComics Super-Fun-Pak Comix page has featured comics from this installment (from 2008), with even more Bob!

This got some attention this week. I tweeted about these comics, which I’d never seen. In 1977, during a contract negotiation with Charles Schulz, the syndicate had Al Plastino (known as a Superman artist) write/draw some test Peanuts strips to see if Schulz could be replaced.
It’s clear… he could not.
The artwork is surprisingly on point (Snoopy’s size in the second comic, aside). But the writing badly misses the mark. Cruelty and violence without psychological context. And a straight up pun gag.

So last week I said I wouldn’t post a picture of Otis the Wonder Puppy unless the Newsletter was shared by more than 20% of the recipients. Well, I’ll pretend it was shared by 20% of you if you’ll pretend Otis didn’t steal a giant flower.
Guys, the new, upcoming books are selling well! Get your copies below!
No Newsletter next week! Please be on you best behavior.
