Well, all this horrific news aside, I had an eventful week. I went down to DC for the National Press Foundation’s Awards Dinner on Wednesday, and accepted the 2022 Berryman Award for Editorial Cartooning.
Here I am delivering my speech. Among my fellow award recipients on the dais were New York Times Executive Editor Dean Baquet and CBS News anchor Norah O’Donnell. You can barely make out on the screen at that moment my comic, The MAGA Matrix.
I offered the following apology on Twitter yesterday:
Much more will be in the Inner Hive mailing next week, where I will really spill the tea.
(It really was weird eating dinner on a stage, facing out at about 500 people.)
This week’s Classic Tom the Dancing Bug (published on GoComics yesterday) is finds Harvey Richards, Lawyer for Children, during a busy day. (from 1993).
On the request of, and with thanks to, Inner Hive member Jeannie, who helps make Tom the Dancing Bug possible.
And this week the GoComics Super-Fun-Pak Comix page has featured comics from this installment (from 2015).
Well, Substack is telling me I’ve already gone on too long, so I’ll have to sign off now. See you next week,
