Speaking of Covid, we had a weird run-in last week. In the interest of public service, I’ll allow a short excerpt from the last Inner Hive mailing:
… Last week my wife was told by a rapid care clinic that she'd tested positive for Covid. My family and friends turned our lives upside down (with quarantines, removal from a job, living space changes and travel, testing, plan cancelations etc.), and then we investigated further and discovered that the nurse had read the report wrong: she was negative for Covid.
As with all medical issues, we have to remember to get the information, look at the reports, and be our own advocates. What a disaster.
(My wife had only the mildest symptoms, and the thing she tested positive for was RSV -- fortunately for her, effectively just a cold -- which we hadn't even known was part of the Covid test she'd gone in for.)
Oddly, just yesterday, Florida governor Ron DeSantis tried to obfuscate his catastrophic Covid results by implying that many pediatric hospitalization cases are actually RSV, or that RSV is actually worse than Covid for kids, or something.
(Apparently, RSV can be dangerous for infants, but generally is not for school-age kids and adults.)

This week’s Classic Tom the Dancing Bug (published on GoComics yesterday) is “Chagrin Falls: ‘No Harm, No Fowl’” (from 2014).
—
And this week the GoComics Super-Fun-Pak Comix page has featured comics from this installment (from 2008)…
(Why do the British find hedgehogs so funny?)
… AND also this 2008 installment.

As I usually do, I leave you with a picture of Otis (10 months old yesterday), in our somewhat idyllic Undisclosed Location in the wilds of New York State, before our return to the wilds of New York City.
Yours Forever,
Rb
